A technical meeting was held with health sector partners to discuss the epidemiological situation of cholera

Today, a technical meeting was held in the capital, Aden, with health sector partners, chaired by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health for the Primary Health Care Sector, Dr. Ali Ahmed Al-Walidi.
The meeting, which was devoted to discussing the epidemiological situation of cholera, included a number of representatives of the relevant health sectors, the director of the World Health Organization office in Aden, Dr. Mahmoud Taher, representatives of UNICEF, Belgian Doctors Without Borders, International Migration, a representative of the Water Bloc and the Health Bloc, and a number of general directors.
p>During the meeting, it was agreed to train health personnel in public and private hospitals in the targeted governorates where cholera cases were recorded, in addition to enhancing awareness and health education in the targeted governorates and strengthening central laboratories with solutions.
The meeting also discussed ways to strengthen epidemiological surveillance with the rapid test that arrived in the temporary capital, Aden, and will be distributed in the coming days. The meeting also addressed discussions about vaccines for cholera.
In the meeting, Dr. Al-Walidi stressed the importance of concerted efforts and adopting plans aimed at confronting any emergency possibilities resulting from the outbreak of acute watery diarrhea.
