The National Network for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities holds the “Paralympic Sports” in Aden

The National Network for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, in partnership with the sports sector and the International Committee of the Arab Red Cross, revived the International Arab Committee for Persons with Disabilities by holding the “Paralympic Sports for Persons with Disabilities” competitions in the closed hall in the capital, Aden.
At the opening ceremony, the Minister of Public Works, Eng. Salem Al-Huraizi, a speech at the beginning of which he conveyed to those present the greetings of the Prime Minister, Dr. Moeen Abdul Malik.
Al-Huraizi stressed the government’s support and great interest in people with disabilities and its provision of all forms of care and attention as they are a group capable of working, producing, and participating in all events and activities.
Al-Rumaisa Yaqoub, President of the National Network for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, gave a welcoming speech - on behalf of her colleagues with disabilities - congratulating all those present on the occasion of the Arab Day for Persons with Disabilities
She noted the importance of sports for each disability as “the beginning of a better future in the sports field for people with disabilities,” hoping that there would be greater local and international participation that would include everyone.
In addition, the National Network, represented by 53 of its associations and centers in the governorates of Abyan - Lahj - Aden - Al Dhalea, thanked the Prime Minister and the Ministers of Transport, Social Affairs and Works for their interest and personal encouragement to make this event a success, and the network’s partners.
The Ministry of Youth and Sports, the International Committee of the Red Cross, and the supporters (Banafa Oud - Rahma Organization - Al-Hikma Association - Andalus Water) for their efforts in making this special day a success.
For his part, the head of the International Committee of the Red Cross delegation in Aden, Yann Buchli, pointed out that the Arab Day for Persons with Disabilities is an opportunity to highlight disabilities in Yemen and work to integrate them into society, explaining that this group often suffers from difficulties in the affected countries. Of conflicts.
Bukhali reiterated the committee’s commitment to continuing its humanitarian operations throughout the country, in cooperation with the Yemeni Red Crescent, guided by the principle of people’s needs, thanking the authorities in Yemen for their commitment to supporting the full integration of people with disabilities into society.
