Armed men assassinated at dawn today, Sheikh Abdul Hakim Al-Lahji, the father of the leader of the Security Belt, Ismail Al-Lahji, while he was leaving after performing the dawn prayer in the Sabr area in Lahj Governorate.

Local sources said that gunmen on a motorcycle fired direct bullets at Sheikh Al-Lahji and fled. As a result, he was seriously injured and was transferred to a hospital in Aden, but he died hours after attempts were made to save him.

The security services have not issued an explanation about the motives and circumstances of the assassination of Sheikh Al-Lahji until now.

Ismail Al-Lahji is a field commander in the security belt, Sheikh Othman sector, and the reason for his father’s assassination was not known.
