In preparation for its operation.. Beginning the installation of an automatic weather station at Ataq Al-Dawul Airport

In light of the continuing efforts made by His Excellency the Minister of Transport and Governor Bin Al-Wazir to operate Ataq International Airport in Shabwa Governorate, this morning, Salem Hamid Lamlas, Director General of Shabwa Airports, accompanied by the advisor, Engineer Alawi Al-Abdali, Advisor to the Assistant Undersecretary for the Meteorology Sector, and Engineer Ahmed Al-Naib, General Director of Stations for the Meteorology Sector, Meteorologists and engineers in the meteorological sector at the General Authority of Civil Aviation and Meteorology installed an automatic weather station at Ataq International Airport provided by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).
The Director General of Shabwa Airports and the Director General of Ataq International Airport explained that the installation of the automatic meteorological station is an achievement achieved today to complete the readiness of the meteorological station at Ataq International Airport.
Lamlas indicated that two automatic weather stations have been approved, one for Ataq International Airport, and the other for Beihan Airport, with follow-up by the airport administration and the authority’s meteorological sector, explaining that the second station will be installed at Beihan Airport after the completion of the installation at Ataq International Airport.
Lamlas indicated that this achievement was achieved today thanks to God first, and then through the efforts of the Governor Bin Al-Wazir and the directives of His Excellency the Minister of Transport, Dr. Abdul Salam Hamid, and Captain Saleh Bin Naeid, Chairman of the General Authority of Civil Aviation and Meteorology.
Lamlas expressed his appreciation to the FAO and the support it provides by providing automatic weather stations to serve agriculture and aviation, praising the efforts of the brothers in the United Arab Emirates in rehabilitating Ataq International Airport and operating it with high readiness.
