Al-Kathiri stresses the importance of preserving the urban heritage of the capital, Aden

Mr. Ali Abdullah Al-Kathiri, President of the National Assembly, reviewed today, Tuesday, a number of projects being implemented to rehabilitate and restore archaeological and historical buildings in a number of districts of the capital, Aden.
This came during his meeting with the Director of the General Authority for the Preservation of Historic Cities and Landmarks in the capital, Aden, Eng. Nasser Abdel Razzaq, where he heard from him, in the presence of the Rapporteur of the National Assembly, Nasr Harhara, and Dr. Jacqueline Al-Battani, Chairman of the Social Affairs Committee of the Assembly, an explanation of the Authority’s tasks and the progress of its work in implementing... And monitor the quality of the projects being implemented to rehabilitate old historical buildings, preserve their unique archaeological urban character, and communicate with the local authority and competent authorities to remove the random developments that have affected them.
Al-Kathiri also learned from Engineer Nasser Abdel-Razzaq the extent of the difficulties and obstacles that obstruct the Authority’s work, the plans and studies it is working on, and the engineering standards for all its projects to preserve antiquities, the most important of which are the projects funded by the European Union in partnership with UNESCO to restore and rehabilitate 100 houses in Madinaty. Crater and Al-Tawahi, and the Authority’s efforts to include the city of Crater among the World Heritage and have it approved by UNESCO.
The President of the National Assembly praised the Authority’s interest and keen interest in preserving the cities and historical monuments in the capital, Aden, stressing the importance of preserving the urban heritage enjoyed by the capital, Aden, and not obliterating its historical identity and archaeological monuments, stressing in the context the readiness of the Transitional Council to provide the necessary support and overcome any Difficulties that may hinder the Authority’s work.
