Security tensions following the killing of a tribal member and the injury of another in Ma’rib Governorate

A tribal member was killed and another was injured, today, Tuesday, in clashes between the army loyal to the governorate authorities and tribal militants in the Al-Wadi District, north of the Yemeni Ma’rib Governorate.
The clashes took place following an attempt by tribal militants to prevent the passage of locomotives carrying petroleum from Ma’rib refineries to the city, in objection to moving the price of petroleum.
The forces were able to control the situation and quell the clashes, while the area is still witnessing tension following the killing of a tribal member.
The clashes between the army and tribal militants come in light of the escalation of tensions in Ma’rib Governorate, as the authorities seek to raise the oil supply and suppress any objection with the aim of imposing more control over the governorate, which is rich in derivatives.
Local sources expressed their fears that these clashes would lead to more tensions in the governorate and exacerbate the humanitarian crisis it is suffering from.
The sources called for the intervention of the coalition and the tribal leadership to prevent the situation from worsening in the region, and to prevent the Brotherhood leaders from monopolizing the decision in the governorate, and using force against its people.
