Raising fuel prices in Marib

The Yemeni Oil Company, Ma'rib Branch, announced a new price for petroleum, at 8,000 riyals for a 20-litre tankard, up from 3,500 riyals, which was its previous price years ago.
The company said in a statement that this price movement came based on Cabinet Resolution No. (3) of 2023 regarding the approval of the decisions of the Supreme Economic Council regarding implementing economic reforms and enhancing the state’s resources
The statement said that, given the exceptional circumstances that the governorate was going through at the time, the Vice President of the Presidential Council and Governor of the governorate communicated with the senior leadership and the government and postponed the implementation of the decision.
The statement added, “Given the economic situation and the government’s need for revenues to cover expenses, including salaries, and since the cost of a liter of gasoline in Ma’rib Governorate is so low that it does not cover the cost of its production, the government decided to move the price of a liter of gasoline (487.50) per liter, meaning that the price The bear is twenty liters (9750) riyals
The statement said that Major General Al-Arada is making great efforts through extensive communication with the presidency and the government to reduce the price to (400) riyals per liter, which is equivalent to eight thousand riyals for a twenty-liter can.
The company's statement said that this price is very reasonable when compared to prices outside the governorate, and will reduce the crisis significantly because the previous price contributed to the prosperity of the black market and the lack of material as a result of the intensive withdrawal.
