The Governor of Socotra meets with the Director of Civil Military Operations of the Joint Forces

The Governor of Socotra, Engineer Raafat Al-Thaqali, met today at the headquarters of the 808 Support and Assistance Force in the governorate, the Director of Civil Military Operations in the Joint Forces, Major General Abdullah Al-Hababi, who arrived on the island today.
Al-Thaqali welcomed the visit of Major General Abdullah Al-Hababi to Socotra, wishing him a pleasant stay throughout the period of the visit, which represents great importance for informing him of the island’s most important relief and development needs for transferring them to the leadership of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, whose appreciation we trust of the requirements of our situation and the recovery of our developmental and service reality.
Al-Thaqli thanked the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, may God protect him, his trustworthy Crown Prince Prince Mohammed bin Salman, and His Highness the Minister of Defense for the fraternal support provided to Yemen in general and to the island in particular.
The Director of Civil Military Operations in the Joint Forces, Major General Abdullah Al-Hababi, said: We are pleased to convey to you the greetings of the Commander of the Joint Forces. This is our second visit to the island and we were keen to meet with you to discuss the island’s relief and development requirements in various aspects.
Noting that the Kingdom’s leadership is always keen to provide a helping hand and support to the people of Socotra within the framework of great support for brotherly Yemen to get out of its current situation.
Stressing the Kingdom's keenness to implement a rehabilitation and training program for employees in government sectors on the island and to sponsor the approval of 50 scholarships for high school students in Saudi universities.
Director of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, Fahd Al-Osaimi, indicated that the Center is continuing to implement its plans on the island, especially in food security and the emergency plan, in view of the climatic fluctuations the island is witnessing, which calls for urgent interventions in shelter and food.
The director of the office of the Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen in Socotra, Engineer Tariq Al-Zaidi, explained that the program has implemented 45 development and service projects since the beginning of the office’s work in 2018 AD, which included the education, security, water, and transportation sectors, and there are upcoming projects that include several service sectors, including the governorate building and a college. Education, technical institute, football field, etc.
The meeting was attended by the Commander of Force 808 for Support and Assistance, Brigadier General Munif Al-Mutairi, the governorate’s undersecretaries, Raed Al-Jaribi and Saleh Ali, the Director General of Police, Colonel Rukn Ali Al-Daksmi, the directors of the two directorates, Hadiboh Abdul Halim Muhammad, Qalansiyah, Abdul Kuri Issa Saeed, and the general directors of the executive offices.
