Construction of a water canal in the city of Al-Ghaydah in Al-Mahra

The Acting Undersecretary of Al-Mahra Governorate for Technical Affairs, Engineer Awad Ahmed Quwaizan, said that a canal had been made and opened to drain stagnant water in the city of Al-Ghaydah to the valley stream, in implementation of the directives of His Excellency Mr. Muhammad Ali Yasser, Governor of the Governorate, regarding developing alternative solutions after confirming the futility of the water suction process.
Queizan added that excavation work had begun, pipes were installed, and they were connected to the last manhole of the sewage project, indicating that the manholes that were previously filled in would be filtered to drain water into the valley.
Queizan pointed out that the work of the canal was due to the ineffectiveness of pumping out stagnant water in the streets of the city of Al-Ghaydah, due to the renewal of water overflowing from the ground as a result of it being saturated with water after Hurricane Tej, which struck the governorate in late October.
