The Presidency of the Yemeni House of Representatives and the heads of the parliamentary blocs held a meeting today, Friday, September 15, 2023, headed by the Speaker of the Council, Sheikh Sultan Al-Barakani, to address developments in the general situation and current changes in the country.

The meeting addressed the course of recent events, most notably the arrival of the terrorist Houthi militia delegation to Riyadh, and discussed the efforts of the brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Sultanate of Oman aimed at pushing the Houthi militias towards seriously dealing with calls for peace, and alleviating the human suffering of the Yemeni people.

The meeting confirmed that the Yemenis believe that peace options will only be made through the agreed-upon references, represented by the Gulf Initiative and its implementation mechanism, the outcomes of the national dialogue, and UN Security Council resolutions, especially Resolution No. 2216, and that any solutions that contradict these references will not be popularly or officially accepted. .

We appreciate the sincere and sincere fraternal efforts made by the Kingdom because it is war and the establishment of just and comprehensive peace in our country.

The Council also affirmed that reaching peace requires sincere intentions and serious work in order to restore the state and spare the blood of the Yemeni people, which has not been demonstrated by the Houthi militias, which until this moment are practicing their systematic crimes against the Yemeni people, confiscating rights and freedoms, and trying to impose an alien culture on our people. The Presidency of the House of Representatives and the heads of parliamentary blocs called on the Leadership Council and all political forces and the government to close ranks and study all options, starting with the option of peace and ending with the option of restoring the state by all possible means.
