Shipping prices to ports increased after the Houthi attacks in the Red Sea

Shipping prices to Yemeni ports increased in December compared to last November, due to attacks launched by the Houthi group in the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandab in western Yemen, according to observers.
The Yemeni businessman in China, Abdul Malik Al-Haddad, said in a tweet on the “X” platform that shipping prices to Aden ports rose from $3,200 to $6,200, while shipping prices to Hodeidah from China rose to nearly $8,000,000. From $5,000 before the Houthi attacks.
In the data published by Al-Haddad for 40-foot container shipping prices, it was stated that there was a huge increase in all ports of the Arabian Peninsula, reaching 300% in some of them, but shipping to Yemeni ports is the highest.
The Houthi group, supported by Iran, launched several attacks on commercial ships in the Red Sea. It is still launching its attacks despite Washington’s announcement of the formation of an international coalition to protect commercial ships in this strategic waterway for international navigation.
