The European Union refuses to participate in the international coalition in the Red Sea

American media reported a short while ago that the European Union has withdrawn from participating in the coalition announced by the United States of America under the name of protecting international navigation in the Red Sea.
Politico magazine said that the European Union withdrew from participating in the US-led coalition in the Red Sea, after Spain backed down significantly and stopped the decision to participate.
Spain, France, and Italy announced that they would not participate in the coalition under the leadership of the United States.
The US Department of Defense (the Pentagon) said last Thursday that more than 20 countries have so far agreed to participate in the coalition known as Operation “Prosperity Guardian,” to deter Houthi threats in the Red Sea.
Some countries have not confirmed their participation, and others have said that their efforts to help protect commercial shipping operations in the Red Sea will come within the framework of existing maritime agreements rather than a new process led by Washington.
