The security services in Abyan Governorate announced, on Wednesday, the thwarting of a terrorist operation prepared to be carried out by a cell that included six members who had been arrested earlier after a raid in the Delta region.

The Abyan Security Media Office showed a video of the confessions of the cell that planned to carry out bombings and target security and military leaders in the governorate, which has been suffering from attacks by the Al-Qaeda terrorist organization for more than a decade.

According to the security services, since 2016, the cell members have remained in a state of hiding and quiet, until months ago they began arrangements to implement their plan.
