The port of Aden was completely empty of any ship for two consecutive days

The port of Aden witnessed, in the past two days, a state of complete stagnation in ship movement, as no ship recorded entry or exit from the port, for the first time in its history.
According to the data of the “Yemen Echo” website, which monitors ship movement, the port was completely devoid of any ship, whether it was anchored, waiting at sea, or expected to arrive, after weeks of minimal traffic, which made the port authorities celebrate when A ship arrives and its crew is honored, as happened in the past weeks.
This collapse in ship movement in the port of Aden comes in light of the Houthi militia’s continued control over the port of Hodeidah, as this port witnessed great congestion with commercial ships, after the Arab coalition lifted the closure measures that were imposed on it.
Local sources confirmed that this sharp decline in ship traffic in the port of Aden will negatively affect the economy in Aden and the southern governorates, as it will lead to a decrease in customs revenues, an increase in unemployment, and an increase in commodity prices.
The sources called on government agencies to work to solve the problems facing the liberated areas, and to provide an attractive environment for commercial ships, to prevent the recurrence of such situations.
