Under the patronage of Minister Al-Zaouri...a training course for women and children’s departments in the southern governorates and liberated areas

This morning in the capital, Aden, and under the generous patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Dr. Muhammad Saeed Al-Zaouri, the training course on building the capabilities of directors of women and children’s departments in the ministry’s offices in the southern governorates and liberated areas began, which is organized by the development sector of the ministry, for example in the General Administration of Women and Children, with support from the Fund. United Nations Population.
In a speech by the Acting Undersecretary for the Development Sector, Fayza Abdul Majeed Muhammad Saleh, she conveyed at the beginning the greetings of His Excellency the Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Dr. Muhammad Saeed Al-Zaouri, to the participants, wishing them good luck and success. Pointing out that this training course comes as a conclusion to the programs and activities for the current year of the Ministry’s General Administration for Women and Children, noting that this course is an opportunity for the directors of the Women and Children’s Departments in the Ministry’s offices in the southern governorates and liberated areas, to exchange visions, ideas and experiences, and learn about a number of concepts about gender-based violence. Social and its impact on individuals and society, its root causes and contributing factors based on gender, as well as identifying the tasks that can be carried out at the present time and in a unified manner.
Professor Fayza confirmed that the Ministry of Social Affairs, represented by His Excellency Minister Dr. Muhammad Saeed Al-Zaouri, plays an effective and responsible role in addressing this type of violence by holding training courses and workshops for specialists, raising their capabilities, intensifying community awareness, and working with the competent authorities to activate national and international laws related to gender-based violence, and seeks to facilitate access to distinguished medical, psychological and legal preventive services for women.
Fayza concluded her speech with sincere thanks and appreciation to the United Nations Population Fund for its continued support, congratulating the participants in the course on the arrival of the new year 2024 AD, hoping that it will be a prosperous year full of giving to women.
The two-day course will also address how to create a supportive environment for survivors of violence within communities, develop action plans, identify resources and partnerships, and coordinate by directors of women and children’s departments in the southern governorates and liberated areas to ensure response to the needs of survivors by service providers.
The inauguration was attended by Mr. Adnan Saeed Ali, Director General of Relations and Information at the Ministry.
