The Houthi group acknowledges the killing of 10 of its members in an American bombing in the Red Sea

The Houthi group admitted, on Sunday evening, that 10 of its members were killed when American forces targeted three of its boats in the southern Red Sea.
The military spokesman for the Yemeni Houthi group, Yahya Saree, announced on Sunday that ten individuals were killed and missing following an attack by American forces on three Houthi boats.
Sari said in a statement published on the “X” platform that the United States bears the consequences of this attack and its repercussions.
The Houthi group claimed responsibility for carrying out a military operation targeting the Maersk Hangzhou container ship, which was heading to Israeli ports, with appropriate naval missiles, according to the statement.
The statement claimed that the targeting operation came after the ship’s crew refused to respond to warning calls.
Houthi boats
Two shipping sources in the Yemeni port of Hodeidah reported that ten Houthis were killed and two others were injured as a result of an American bombing on boats that attacked a container ship in the Red Sea, according to Agence France-Presse.
The US Central Command announced earlier today that Houthi boats attacked a commercial ship and US Navy helicopters in the southern Red Sea.
The command added in a statement, today, Sunday, that a container ship belonging to the international company Maersk launched a second distress call in less than 24 hours after it was attacked by four boats belonging to the Houthis.
She explained that American helicopters responded to the distress call and the boats opened fire on them, noting that the American helicopters responded by firing in self-defense, sinking 3 of the four boats, killing their crews, and the fourth boat fled the area.
