The Director of the Antiquities Authority in the Hadhramaut Coast, Riyad Bakramum, announced today, Tuesday, the discovery of 3 ancient mummies in the “Wadi Khader” area in the Doan District, east of Hadhramaut Governorate.

Bakarmoum told Al-Hadath Al-Yemeni that the discovered mummies are in good condition, and will be studied to learn more about their history and the mummification method followed.

He added that this discovery is the first of its kind in Hadramaut Governorate, and indicates the presence of ancient civilizations that flourished in the region.

Bakarmoum stressed that the Authority will work to protect this important archaeological discovery and prepare it for display to the public.
