The Security Council announces a meeting to discuss the situation in Yemen

The French ambassador to the United Nations, whose country holds the presidency of the UN Security Council in its current session, announced that the Council may meet tomorrow, Wednesday, to discuss the situation in the Red Sea.
Ambassador Nicolas de Rivière said in a press conference when asked about the international response to the Yemeni Houthi attacks on ships in the Red Sea, “The Council will likely meet to discuss this issue soon, and perhaps tomorrow.”
He added, “The situation is bad... There are repeated violations and military actions in this region.”
