The training course for training of trainers (TOT) in epidemiological surveillance, early electronic warning of epidemic diseases, and response to acute watery diarrhea, organized by the primary health care sector of the Ministry of Health with support from the International Society for the Care of Victims of Wars and Disasters (Al-Amin), was concluded in the capital, Aden.< /p>
The three-day course aimed to provide 42 participants from the governorates of Aden, Shabwa, Ma’rib, Taiz, Al Mahra and the Hadhramaut coast with skills on epidemiological surveillance and its objectives, identifying watery diarrhea and suspected cases of cholera, and classifying the case according to the Ministry of Health’s updated guide, as well as learning about the work of rapid response teams. Enhancing the capabilities of participants through the practical aspect of epidemiological investigation during pandemics, the reporting mechanism, entering reports into the electronic system, and reviewing the epidemiological situation for the past year in the governorates targeted for training.
At the conclusion of the course, in which certificates of participation were distributed, the Director General of the General Administration for Disease Control and Epidemiological Surveillance, Dr. Adham Mohamed, urged the participants to be inspired by the course’s vocabulary, reflect it in reality, and work to spread the benefit to their colleagues in the health sector.
