Sirah Authority launches a project to restore historic houses in the district

The Director General of the Sira District in the capital, Aden, Dr. Mahmoud Najib bin Jaradi, inaugurated the project to restore historic houses in the Sira District, which is funded by the European Union through the UNESCO office.
The project, implemented by the Aden-Abyan Public Works Project and the Social Fund for Development, and under the supervision of the General Authority for the Preservation of Historic Cities and the Aden Executive Unit, targets 100 houses in the old neighborhoods of Crater.
Ben Jaradi stressed, during the inauguration of the project, which was attended by the Director of the Aden-Abyan Public Works Project, Engineer Mohsen Alawi, the UNESCO representative, Engineer Muhammad Banafa, the project officer, Engineer Adel Al-Jilani, and the project’s engineering team, that the leadership of the local authority, Baseera, was keen to implement the directives and plans of the local authority in the capital. Aden is represented by the Minister of State, Governor of Aden, Ahmed Hamid Lamlas, by supporting and facilitating the work of projects that contribute to the preservation of the distinguished archaeological and historical buildings for which the Sira Directorate is known as the “Old City.”
Calling on the owners of archaeological and historical houses to interact and cooperate to ensure the success of the project’s work and to highlight the historical and cultural character of the Historic Sira District.
