Ibn Khaldun Hospital employees and workers organize a protest to demand the payment of their late salaries

The employees and workers of Ibn Khaldun Hospital in Lahj Governorate, this Sunday morning, organized a protest in front of the hospital administration, to demand the payment of their late salaries for two consecutive months (December of last year and January of the current year).
The protesters chanted slogans denouncing duplicity, racism, and the starvation policy, as they were in a service health facility and still had not received their salaries, while employees in other governorates received their salaries with the difference in the annual bonus recently approved by the government.
The protesters appealed to the Presidential Council and the legitimate government, as well as the local authority in the governorate, represented by Major General Ahmed Abdullah Turki, governor of the governorate, to disburse their salaries on a regular basis, and they are continuing to stop working until their demands are met.
The union committee of Ibn Khaldun General Hospital had earlier called on workers to go on a comprehensive general strike in protest against the non-payment of all workers’ financial dues, represented by settlements, similar to the rest of the hospitals in the Republic.
The union said in a statement issued after its extraordinary meeting, that the committee formed by the Civil Service and Personnel Affairs and the union has completed all procedures for settlements for workers in the hospital by uploading the data for all employees, indicating that the health and population office in the governorate has not disbursed it yet. Although all government hospitals have paid all employees’ financial dues.
The union added that this matter forced it to call on all workers in health facilities to go on a general strike as a means of putting pressure on the health office to disburse all benefits for workers at Ibn Khaldoun General Hospital in the city of Al-Houta, Lahj, similar to other hospitals.
