The US Department of Defense, the Pentagon, announced the continuation of air strikes against Houthi targets in Yemen if necessary and the Houthis do not stop their attacks on ships.

Pentagon Deputy Press Secretary Sabrina Singh said during a press conference that Washington is not at war with the Houthis, and that it is only acting in self-defense in the face of the Houthis’ capabilities.

It called on the Houthis to stop their assaults and attacks on commercial ships in the Red Sea and to ensure the security of international navigation.

The US military had announced the implementation of a fourth round of strikes against Houthi targets in Yemen, hours after targeting an American ship in the Gulf of Aden.

The US Central Command said, in a statement, that fourteen missile platforms that the Houthis had prepared to launch on shipping lines in the Red Sea were bombed.
