Conclusion of the first scholarship conference in the capital, Aden

The activities of the first scholarship conference, organized by the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research, Technical Education and Vocational Training, in partnership with the Hadhramaut Foundation - Human Development, concluded today in the capital, Aden, over two days.
In conclusion, the Prime Minister, Dr. Maeen Abdulmalik, delivered a speech via video call (Zoom), in which he indicated that despite the country’s situation still difficult, and the repercussions of the eight-year war of dispersion in state institutions, the Yemeni government is always keen to take care of the country’s leadership. Human capital and the scholarship sector, and that there be transparency in procedures related to providing better opportunities for the people of the country, benefiting from rare specializations, and modernizing and building Yemeni universities at home so that they are strong and keep up with all standards and quality in education.
Dr. Moeen stressed that investing in the education sector is very important, so that the benefit will be by returning to the state and ensuring the formation of an educated cadre capable of returning part of the dues to the country... indicating that there is an extraordinary development in the region, which requires joint action to be Part of this development in the labor market, internally and externally, and looking at all sectors is part of the government’s keenness to confront all the imbalances that existed in the past, as there were development ideas being arranged if it were not for the war.
The Prime Minister praised the interaction of the leaders of the Ministry of Higher Education, represented by Dr. Khaled Al-Wasabi, with institutions that have experience with scholarships, such as the Hadhramaut Foundation, to revive new ideas, develop academic work, provide opportunities for male and female students to study scholarships, access specific specializations that benefit the country, and honor those who excelled... emphasizing The government provides the necessary support to all ministries and sectors that are working to develop their work with a clear and comprehensive strategy that serves the country.
The participants in the conference, which was attended by the Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research, Technical Education and Vocational Training, Dr. Khaled Al-Wasabi, the former Minister of Higher Education, Dr. Hussein Basalama, the deputy ministers, and the presidents of public and private universities, recommended the importance of forming a specialized team to formulate a scholarship policy and Its national strategy, and the framework of partnership with the private sector and community organizations in the fields of education and scholarships.
Participants in the conference organized by the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research, Technical Education and Vocational Training, in partnership with the Hadhramaut Foundation - Human Development, also stressed the importance of approving financial budgets for the Ministry of Higher Education in the field of scholarships, and strengthening the role of cultural attachés by developing the ministerial database and linking it. With attachés, and developing legal legislation that regulates internal and external scholarships in line with modern changes, in addition to allocating seats for outstanding and creative high school graduates for scholarships to universities of high academic standing, and allocating financial scholarships to children of Yemeni communities abroad.
The workshops held during the conference dealt with 11 scientific working papers centered on the scholarship process, its challenges and ways to confront them, regional and international experiences and models on scholarship, and future directions for developing the scholarship process.
The conference also concluded its work by forming a committee to follow up on the outcomes, and a joint committee between the ministry and civil society organizations to draw up a partnership policy to prepare and formulate the national scholarship strategy.
