The emergency obstetric center in the Buraiqa District, in the capital, Aden, closed its doors suddenly, which sparked citizens’ discontent, and the people called on the competent authorities to reopen it.

The center is considered one of the most important health facilities in the district, as it provides obstetrics and newborn care services to pregnant women, and is distinguished by the presence of a female staff of specialist doctors and experienced midwives.

According to the people, the closure comes amid difficult economic conditions, as most families suffer from high costs of living, which makes the costs of giving birth in private hospitals prohibitive.

The people called on the competent authorities to reconsider the closure decision, and to develop the necessary solutions to reopen the center, to alleviate the suffering of pregnant women and families.
