An official source in the General Administration of the General Corporation for Telecommunications in the capital, Aden, announced that the fiber optic cable was cut off in an area between the cities of Al-Mukalla and Al-Shahr, and that interruption led to the interruption of Internet service in the governorates of Hadhramaut and Marib.
The source explained that the corporation's technical teams received a report about the fiber cable being cut and were unable to determine whether it was an act of sabotage or an accident.
The source indicated that the corporation’s management began sending teams of technicians to the site to repair the resulting malfunction, as the engineering teams are currently working to repair the cable, secure service for subscribers, and restore Internet service as quickly as possible.
