The bodies of 8 fishermen were found on the remote “Dhul Harab” islands in the Red Sea

Today, Thursday, the bodies of eight fishermen from Al-Khawkhah District in Hodeidah Governorate were found, who were shot dead in the Red Sea.
Local sources confirmed that the fishermen were on a fishing trip and left the coast of Al-Khokha on December 19, late 2023.
The sources explained that they announced their disappearance a week ago, and they were found on Thursday, January 25, 2024, near the “Dhu Harab” islands in the Red Sea, with gunshot wounds on their bodies. They were identified through their identities and personal belongings.
The sources considered the incident a dangerous indicator that fishermen were being targeted during their regular fishing trips.
This comes in light of the escalation of Houthi attacks on commercial ships and the import of foreign military forces into the Red Sea to protect the ships.
