The conclusion of the Equestrian and Camel Festival in Asilan District, Shabwa

Asilan District in Shabwa Governorate witnessed on Saturday afternoon the activities of the ninth Equestrian, Camel and Heritage Festival in the district, which was organized by the Asilan Society for Culture and Heritage, and under the sponsorship and support of Presidential Council member Aidaroos Al-Zubaidi, and Shabwa Governor Sheikh Awad Ibn Al-Wazir.
At the conclusion of the tournament, the governorate’s undersecretaries, Mohammed Al-Fatimi and Ali Al-Harithi, honored the top three contestants in the fields of horse and camel racing, in which about sixty contestants, including twenty riders, participated.
Al-Fatimi and Al-Harithi expressed their pride in hosting the Asilan District, home of the immortal Qataban civilization, for the festival. They welcomed the resumption of its activities and its return again, and conveyed to the festival audience, the greetings of the governor of the governorate, Sheikh Awad Ibn al-Wazir, on the occasion, noting his interest in the rich and diverse popular heritage of the governorate, stressing his deep connection. With its ancient cultural and historical identity and highlighting it in its most beautiful form, they praised the level of preparation for the distinguished heritage festival, pointing out its revival of the authenticity and history of the equestrian championship, noting the Arab passion for it in all ages, praising the skills of the horsemen participating in the racetrack, congratulating the success of the festival’s activities, praising the The initiative of the Asilan Heritage Association to adopt the idea of the festival, and work to implement it.
Participating in the festival activities were the Vice President of Shabwa University, Dr. Mohsen Bahaj, the Director General of the Governorate’s Culture Office, Dr. Faisal Al-Baasi, the Head of Bayhan Axis Operations, Brigadier General Mubarak Al-Alam, the Director-General of Qena Port, Brigadier General Saleh Bilal, the Director-General of Bayhan Muhammad Sheikh, and the local secretary, Asilan Ahmed.
