Britain is considering sending an aircraft carrier to the Red Sea to confront the Houthis

British Deputy Defense Secretary James Hebbey announced that Britain is considering sending an aircraft carrier to the Red Sea to confront the Houthis in the region.
Hebbey indicated that the British aircraft carrier may replace the American aircraft carrier "Dwight Eisenhower".
The Daily Telegraph quoted the deputy minister as saying that Eisenhower could not remain there always. At the same time, the presence of an aircraft carrier must be maintained in the region, and therefore we can cooperate with the Americans to cover this need.”
Hebe affirmed London’s readiness to do so if necessary.
It is noteworthy that the British Royal Navy owns two aircraft carriers, They are “Queen Elizabeth” and “Prince of Wales”. “Queen Elizabeth” had previously participated in military operations in the region, as this ship was used by the international coalition led by the United States to fight “ISIS” in Syria and Iraq in 2021.
As for the aircraft carrier “Prince of Wales”, it has not participated in combat missions yet.
Each of the two ships can accommodate up to 35 F-35 aircraft.
At present, Britain has deployed a destroyer. "Diamond" in the Red Sea, which participated in confronting Houthi attacks on commercial ships in the region.
Britain announced on January 9 that it would send the "Richmond" frigate to the Red Sea to replace "Diamond" soon.
