Aden Electricity raises service tariffs in light of the collapse of the system

The Aden Electricity Corporation announced today, Wednesday, an increase in the service tariff for government and commercial institutions from 100 to 150 riyals per kilowatt.
This decision comes in light of a major collapse in the electrical system, with the deficit reaching 80% due to fuel scarcity and the government’s failure to fulfill its responsibilities in providing fuel and securing the shipment of crude to PetroMasila.
The Foundation indicated that this increase aims to cover part of the operating and maintenance costs, and improve the service provided to citizens.
Citizens are concerned about the electricity decision, especially since the rise in the price of electricity will negatively affect the increase in materials and services provided by the private sector.
