Because of jealousy of her success, a husband slaughters his wife in the city of Taiz

A few days ago, the Yemeni city of Taiz witnessed a horrific murder, in which an educational professor was killed, after her husband slaughtered her in her home in the Asifra area.
Local sources said that the husband, who works as a taxi driver, committed his crime out of jealousy over the success of his wife, who works as a teacher in a government school, and had recently finished building her own house with the help of her family.
The sources added that the wife, who is 35 years old, is the mother of two children, one in the second grade of primary school, and the other in kindergarten, and she had a good reputation and respect from her colleagues and students.
The sources indicated that the security services were able to arrest the killer husband and refer him to the Public Prosecution for investigation and trial, while the victim’s body was transferred to Al-Mouwasat Hospital for a medical autopsy.
The heinous crime sparked widespread condemnation and anger in the Yemeni street, and activists and bloggers demanded the maximum punishment for the perpetrator, and the protection of women’s rights and lives from domestic and societal violence.
