Hadhramaut teachers raise the red flag to begin a strike “statement”

A statement issued by several unions representing teachers and educators in Hadramaut Governorate confirmed the determination of workers in the educational sector to implement a partial and comprehensive strike to obtain their lost rights and improve their living situation, which has reached a bad level. The statement detailed the stages of the strike as follows

The partial strike will take place on the sixth and seventh of the same month, and the major escalation steps will begin with a comprehensive strike on Sunday, February 11, 2024 AD, and the union statement will be detailed, as well as the rights demanded by teachers, the most important of which are the regular payment of salaries at the end of each month and the disbursement of a high-cost incentive for all workers in the field of education. In the coast and valley, 50,000 thousand Yemeni riyals, accelerating the annual bonus due, and approving a wage structure commensurate with the changes and living situation. According to working sources, many teachers in the valley, desert, and some coastal districts responded to the calls of educational unions and raised red flags in accordance with the escalation steps, despite the intimidation and abuse being practiced on them to silence their voices.
