Victims of security forces as a result of the explosion of a bomb planted by Al-Qaeda in Modiya District

A soldier was killed and two other civilians were injured today (Sunday) in the explosion of an explosive device planted by Al-Qaeda members in the Mudiya District, east of Abyan Governorate.
According to security sources, the explosion occurred in front of a Modi security gate, killing the soldier who was working as a guard and wounding two passers-by.
Eyewitnesses said that the explosion was loud and terrifying, and the security services began investigating and searching for the terrorist elements involved in the crime.
The Abyan Security Administration held Al-Qaeda responsible, vowing in a statement to pursue the members involved and bring them to justice to receive their punishment.
The statement indicated that the security and military services are conducting an extensive combing operation to search for terrorist elements whose headquarters and criminal operations are based in the valleys and reefs.
The security services had foiled dozens of explosive devices that were prepared to explode in recent days in a number of areas in the governorate, including 18 anti-tank explosive devices, 10 mortar shells, other devices, and local devices used for remote detonation belonging to Al-Qaeda.
