The military media of the Joint Forces on the Yemeni West Coast published a video containing the confessions of two members of a “terrorist cell affiliated with the Houthi militia,” who said that they intended to plant explosive devices on the asphalt line linking Taiz and the West Coast last August.
The two members of the cell admitted - according to the video - that they were involved in planting explosive devices on public roads, mostly in Taiz Governorate, in which civilians were mostly killed, noting that they work within a Houthi unit called the “Humanitarian Operations Unit,” which does not differentiate between civilians and military personnel in its operations. .
The two members reviewed the details of the last mission that led them into the hands of members of the joint forces in the Al-Barah axis, explaining that they and a third member were about to plant three explosive devices in the line linking the western coast and the city of Taiz, specifically in front of Jabal Al-Arf, before they were arrested by the forces. After clashes resulted in the death of the third member.
They added: “We moved late in the evening, and when we approached the contact line, we were surprised by a strike in which Al-Aswadi and Al-Sharabi were killed, while we were wounded. We retreated a little and tried to resist, but we soon found ourselves surrounded and were arrested. It became clear that we had fallen into a trap. An ambush, and that our movement from the beginning was exposed and monitored moment by moment.”
Documentations of some crimes by the so-called Houthi “victimization operations unit” against civilians in Taiz and other governorates were found in the cell phones.
A unit of the joint forces, based on information obtained by the General Intelligence Division of the National Resistance, set up a precise ambush for the aforementioned cell members and clashed with them as they approached the area of its concentration, resulting in the death of two and the capture of two others.
