The UN envoy reveals a new American strategy to control the Red Sea

The US envoy to Yemen, Tim Lenderking, revealed the US strategy to control the Red Sea, in light of the ongoing Houthi attacks.
Lenderking said, in statements to the American newspaper, The New York Times, on Tuesday: “We are following a multi-pronged strategy to regain control of the Red Sea.”
The American envoy to Yemen explained that the strategy includes air strikes to weaken the Houthis’ ability to attack ships.
It also includes intensifying efforts to intercept Iranian weapons sent to Yemen, according to the envoy, who also said: “Our strategy includes increasing diplomatic efforts to pressure the Houthis.”
The American envoy had said earlier that "the Houthis must realize that peace cannot be achieved while they threaten the world economy."
Lenderking said that the Houthis' actions in the region threaten to turn Yemen into a "pariah state," referring to the attacks launched by the group against international ships in the Red Sea, and their impact on shipping traffic.
