Al-Alimi receives Lenderking and stresses the government's commitment to the peace approach

The Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, Rashad Al-Alimi, on Wednesday, reaffirmed the legitimate government’s commitment to a comprehensive and just peace approach in Yemen in accordance with the terms of reference agreed upon nationally, regionally and internationally.
This came during a meeting between President Al-Alimi, the US envoy Timothy Lenderking, and the US ambassador to Yemen, Stephen Feigen.
The government agency Saba reported that the meeting discussed the American support required to strengthen the position of the Yemeni economy, including alleviating the human suffering caused by the Houthi group.
She added that Al-Alimi affirmed the support of the Leadership Council and the government for the efforts led by the United Nations envoy to revive the peace process in Yemen.
She indicated that the meeting discussed regional developments, the repercussions of the Israeli war against the Palestinian people on global peace and security, and the importance of doubling efforts for an immediate and sustainable ceasefire, and resolving the Palestinian issue justly on the basis of international legitimacy resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative.
The Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council stressed the firm and principled position of the Republic of Yemen alongside the Palestinian people, and their right to restore their independent, fully sovereign state.
