Today, the Security Belt forces in Lahj Governorate were able to arrest an arms smuggling gang in possession of large quantities of light and medium weapons in Wadi Al-Husseini, north of the city of Al-Houta.
The operations of the Lahj Security Belt Forces revealed that a force from the Al-Husseini sector was able to arrest the most dangerous weapons smuggling gang, after intensive tracking and monitoring operations.
The gang consisted of four people who were on board a “Shas” car and in possession of large quantities of light and medium weapons. They tried to pass through the Wadi Al-Khair road in the Al-Husseini area, coming from Abyan, on their way to the Al-Waht area.
The operations indicated that our soldiers were on the lookout for them and worked to besiege the transit area, cordon off the place, and arrest the gang members.
Lahj Belt Operations added: Initial investigations with those involved in the smuggling operation revealed their involvement in several previous operations, and their involvement in smuggling operations from inside the country to outside and vice versa.
It confirmed that the quantity of seized weapons consisted of RPG shells, RPG shell charges, a number of Chinese-made automatic weapon parts, and a quantity of automatic weapon ammunition, and noted that those involved in the smuggling operation with the seized items would be referred to the competent authorities to complete the procedures. legal rights against them.
