The Ministry of Agriculture retracts the decision to ban the export of onions abroad (document)

A ministerial decision issued by the Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries, Salem Al-Socotra, approved the lifting of Ministerial Resolution No. 2 for the year 2024, related to preventing the export of onion crops abroad.
Ministerial Resolution No. 4 for the current year stipulated the resumption of onion exports abroad, in accordance with established frameworks, while maintaining quantities of the crop to cover the needs of the local market.
The decision stipulated that 30 percent of the quantities to be exported be allocated to be marketed locally, provided that this quantity is subject to control in accordance with the distribution plan drawn up by the Ministry.
