An important clarification from the Aden Land Authority branch regarding the “Archive” incident

Today, the Aden Branch of the General Authority for Lands, Survey and Urban Planning issued an important clarification regarding the “Archive” incident that was circulated on social media.
The branch explained in its statement that what happened was that a guard member entered the archive illegally, and was detected by another guard member.
After learning about the matter, the Al-Mualla police were informed, who went to the site of the incident, collected evidence, and investigated some guard personnel and an archive specialist.
An official report was also made by the branch to the Director General of Aden Police to take the necessary legal measures. The case was referred to the Criminal Investigation Department in the capital, which initiated an immediate investigation and was able to arrest some of those involved from outside the branch.
The branch confirmed that the investigation procedures are still ongoing, and that what has been achieved so far is the result of the speed of action by the leadership of the Authority’s office branch and its extreme keenness to arrest those involved.
The branch denied what was circulated about burning the archive, stressing that this news is false and aims to mislead public opinion and harm the employees and leadership of the authority branch.
The branch explained that it reserves its legal right to prosecute anyone who publishes false news about the Authority.
The branch called on the media and social media activists to ensure accuracy and objectivity in publishing news, and not to be drawn into malicious rumours.
The branch concluded its statement by emphasizing its keenness to protect the state’s assets and property, and that all its procedures are carried out transparently and in accordance with the law.
