Explosion of a crude oil transport pipeline east of Ataq in Shabwa Governorate

In a new security incident, this afternoon, unknown assailants targeted a crude oil transport pipeline in the Kilo 65 area east of the city of Ataq in Shabwa Governorate.
The explosion led to a complete cessation of the pumping of crude oil from the Jannah Hunt oil fields to Sector 4 and Al-Nashima.
The party responsible for this bombing has not yet been known, while the security services are continuing investigations to uncover the identity of the perpetrators and bring them to justice.
It is noteworthy that this incident is the second of its kind this year, as the crude oil pipeline in the Usaylan area was targeted last January.
The security services had prevented a tribal sector in the governorate from demanding a share of oil derivatives for the governorate and selling them at reasonable prices, like in Ma’rib Governorate.
