The release of a weapons and drug smuggling ring for the Houthis in Al-Mahra and calls for investigation

The security services in Al-Mahra Governorate this week released a gang that was smuggling weapons and drugs to the Houthi group through Iran via the Sultanate of Oman.
According to the sources, the security services released a gang whose members belong to the Yemeni Al-Jawf Governorate, which is under the control of the Houthi militias loyal to Iran, through the guidance of our country’s ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman, “Khaled Shatif,” who is behind the operations to facilitate all support for the Houthi group that passes through Muscat. .
The sources indicated that the gang was introducing a shipment of drugs and weapons into the Sayhut coast of Al-Mahra Governorate, where clashes broke out between the gang and a military point, causing the death of two soldiers from the point. After the gang members fled, an armed forces point near Al-Wadiah was able to arrest the gang.< /p>
The source confirmed that the Army Forces Command handed over the gang members to the governorate’s security, and after imprisonment for two months, and following the interventions of the Yemeni ambassador in Muscat, “Shatif,” they were released, in an incident that sparked anger in the governorate.
Shatif was able to prevent them from being referred to the prosecution, and this week he released them and handed them over to his brother, Sanad bin Ali Shatif.
The sources explained that the gang belongs to the Houthi group, and Ambassador Shatif’s brother described them as prisoners when he wrote about their release.
According to the sources, this is not the first time that Ambassador Khaled Shatif has intervened to release weapons and explosives smuggling gangs. He had previously released a number of gangs that belong to different governorates of the north and whose members work for the benefit of the Houthi group.
The people of Al-Mahra expressed their deep dissatisfaction with what Ambassador Shatif is doing inside the governorate and his release of murderers and smugglers and his official work with the Houthi group even though he is affiliated with the legitimate government, calling on the Presidential Council to take the necessary measures against him and against everyone who violates the system and the law and works in the interest of parties. An international organization that is hostile to the people and the government.
