His Excellency Dr. Mohammed Saeed Al-Zaouri, Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, chaired a meeting of the Ministry Council this morning, which included undersecretaries and advisors.

Minister Al-Zaouri briefed the Council members on the results of the meeting with Prime Minister Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak, which focused entirely on dealing with the current challenges that the country is going through, most notably the economic and financial conditions and the provision of social services to citizens, and the nature of the procedures and tasks required to be implemented to alleviate the severity of the crisis. During the meeting, Minister Al-Zaouri stressed the necessity of working to implement the Ministry’s annual plan, completing the preparation of strategies, preparing the matrix of needs and priorities in the short, medium and long term, and making redoubled efforts to improve the work of sectors and funds at various levels in effective coordination with official agencies and institutions and relevant authorities.

The meeting approved the annual report for the year 2023 AD, and the annual plan of activities for the current year 2024 AD, and the representatives reviewed the level of achievement in implementing the activities planned for the past year, including the social protection strategy, the national plan for childhood, the plan for women, security and peace, and the procedures related to discussing and raising a draft human rights law. Minister Al-Zaouri stressed during the meeting to work in a spirit of responsibility to implement the ministry’s plans and strategies according to the time specified in the annual plan.

His Excellency praised the efforts of the Council members in carrying out the tasks despite the scarcity of material capabilities and equipment, and their ability to achieve successes on which to build upon, to reach the required level.
