Conclusion of the capacity building course for community committees in peacebuilding in Al Shihr District

The training course in building the capabilities of community committees in peacebuilding, conflict resolution and arbitration was concluded today in Al-Shahr District, as part of the project to explore local and alternative methodologies to support peace in Yemen, the third phase in Hadhramaut Governorate, with the participation of “20” trainees from the community committees in Al-Shahr District and in the presence of the President of the Court. Over the course of four days, participants in the course, which was implemented by the Hadhramaut Strategic Team, with funding from the Sana’a Center for Studies in partnership with the SAFERWORLD organization, received knowledge about working on how to formulate arbitration agreements, community mediation mechanisms, peacemaking, conflict resolution, and integrating gender into the mediation industry. And peacemaking.
At the conclusion of the course, the project consultant, lawyer Hussein Ghadaf, stressed the importance of this course, which aims to hone the skills of the various community committees, work to create partnerships with the local authority and the judicial authority, and work to have the committee accredited within the community committees in Al Shihr District by an official decision in order to resolve community disputes, in advance. The course aimed to highlight the skills of community committees by training staff working in the sector specialized in resolving community and local disputes. It included training days on multiple axes, including the steps of arbitration and community justice, and working to implement the laws and agreements adopted for arbitration, the elements of the contract in the agreements, and the conditions agreed upon by the arbitrator. .
The course included conflict resolution tools, stages of conflict, conflict resolution skills, strategies for dealing with conflict, practical application for trainees in the course, realistic examples of them, resolving them in ways that end with reconciliation, and mechanisms for forming free arbitration committees and implementing the arbitration award.
