Saudi security authorities announced the arrest of six Yemenis who entered the Kingdom irregularly and were in possession of quantities of the qat plant.

A statement by the security authorities said that border guard ground patrols in the Al-Arda sector in the Jazan region arrested 6 violators of the border security system of Yemeni nationality, for smuggling 120 kilograms of the narcotic khat plant

She confirmed that the initial legal procedures had been completed against the accused, and that they and the seized items had been handed over to the competent authority.

It called on the security authorities to report all available information to citizens and residents about any activities related to drug smuggling or drug promotion.
