Amnesty International calls on the Houthi group to immediately release Judge “Qatran”

Amnesty International called on the Iranian-backed terrorist Houthi militia to quickly release Judge Abdul Wahab Qatran, who was kidnapped in the militia’s intelligence prison for more than a month.
It also called, in a statement published on its website, for the immediate and unconditional release of Judge Qatran, explaining that he is being detained only for the peaceful exercise of his human rights.
Amnesty International said in the statement, “Judge Abdul Wahab Qatran was arbitrarily arrested by the security and intelligence forces of the Houthis who stormed his home in Sanaa on January 2, threatened him and his family members, and interrogated him for long hours without the presence of a lawyer.” ".
The organization added, “Judge Qatran was subjected to enforced disappearance following his arrest for three days, then he was placed in solitary confinement and deprived of his right to seek assistance from a lawyer.”
The organization indicated, in the statement, that the judge was arrested two days after he wrote a post on social media on December 31, 2023 criticizing the Houthis.
