An official in the Yemeni Ministry of Defense was killed inside his apartment in Egypt

The director of the Military Industrialization Department of the Yemeni Ministry of Defense and the head of the National Rescue Movement in Yemen, Major General Hassan Farhan bin Jalal Al-Obaidi, were killed in his home in the Faisal area of Giza Governorate.
Al-Obaidi arrived in Cairo five days ago, coming from Turkey, and his brother was the one who discovered his death after he tried to contact him on Saturday evening, and he did not answer the call, according to Sky News Arabia.
According to the sources, Al-Obaidi’s brother went to his house on Sunday morning on Al-Thalathiini Street, where he lived in an apartment on the twelfth floor of a fourteen-story building. He knocked on the door and there was no answer, which prompted him to call the police, and after opening the apartment, he found Al-Obaidi dead.
After examining the body, it was revealed that there were injuries to the head and neck and a nosebleed, and the body was found tied up, according to what the sources reported.
According to the sources, an inspection of the apartment revealed traces of the search, and that the contents of the apartment were scattered.
His brother reported that the dead man had rented a car to move around Cairo, but this car had disappeared from sight.
The security services are currently examining the surveillance cameras of the house where Al-Obeidi lived and the neighboring houses, and are also working to track the car that he was renting.
Meanwhile, Egyptian security services are conducting interrogations of the building's residents. The security sources refused to anticipate the investigations, indicating that they were looking into all possibilities.
The Yemeni Embassy in Cairo announced the killing of Al-Obaidi, and issued a statement in which it said: “The Embassy of the Republic of Yemen to the Arab Republic of Egypt is following up with great interest and concern the issue of the killing of the martyr, Major General Hassan bin Jalal Al-Obaidi, Director of the Military Industrialization Department in the Ministry of Defense, who was found murdered in his apartment in the Egyptian capital. Cairo".
She added: “The embassy, from the first moment it received the report, assigned specialists to go to the field, communicate with all relevant security authorities in the Arab Republic of Egypt, and follow up on investigations to reach the truth of the painful incident.”
In press statements by the media advisor to the Yemeni embassy in Cairo, Baligh Al-Mikhlafi, he indicated that Major General Al-Obaidi was on private leave in Cairo a month ago until he was found murdered in his apartment in Giza Governorate.
