The Houthi armed group announced, on Monday, the downing of a US-made drone in Hodeidah Governorate, western Yemen. It is the second American plane to be shot down since last October.

The Houthis published pictures of the wreckage of an American MQ-9 aircraft after it was collected from the Red Sea. The video clip indicates the launch of a surface-to-air missile that the Houthis said was homemade and believed to be from Iran, followed by a combustion in the air on Sunday night.

The downing of the drone is considered a new development after the American attacks on Yemeni territory, and drones are usually used to collect information from Yemeni territory.
