Local sources reported that a Houthi gunman named (Haitham Muhammad Ali Al-Ashawi) from the “Alam area in the Bani Saif Al-Aali isolation in Al-Qafr district in Ibb governorate” committed a horrific crime before noon today, where he killed his wife, his daughter, his aunt, his wife’s mother, and his aunt, his father’s sister. He was shot while they were serving him lunch at his home.

The sources said that the perpetrator was able to escape after committing the crime, taking advantage of the military kit he was carrying as he was a member of the Houthi group, and the motives that led him to commit this heinous act are not yet known.

The sources added that the victims were transferred to Al-Qafr General Hospital, and that a state of sadness and shock prevailed among the people of the region, calling on the security authorities to arrest the perpetrator and bring him to justice.
