The Houthi militia burned five cars belonging to citizens in the desert line linking the Al-Jawf and Marib governorates, northern Yemen.
Local sources said that during the past week, members of the Houthi militia carried out operations to cut off, chase, and burn a number of cars belonging to citizens who crossed the desert road in the Labnat area, east of the city of Al-Hazm.
The sources explained that the targeted cars are of the modified European type, transported by drivers from the Shehn border crossing with the Sultanate of Oman to areas controlled by the militia, which prohibits the import of such cars.
The sources indicated that among the targets were two drivers from Amran Governorate, one of whom was driving a “Noah” bus and the other a Corolla car, and they were intercepted by members of the Houthi militia in the Labnat desert area, according to “Al-Masdar Online”.
The sources confirmed that the militia members removed the drivers from the vehicles, shot them, and then deliberately set them on fire.
This comes in conjunction with popular calls to open roads between governorates, while the Houthi militia rejects all calls.
