A security source confirmed the arrest of a vehicle driver who ran over a traffic policeman on the ship tour in the Dar Saad district in the capital, Aden.

The source indicated that the citizen (A.A.A.) was driving his vehicle in a manner that violated the route of vehicles on the ship’s tour while the traffic man, Muhammad Ahmed Al-Baiti, was performing his duty in regulating traffic. He was run over by that violating vehicle and was injured as a result. He suffered severe bruises on his body and head.

The source explained that the security services opened an investigation into the incident and were able to arrest the vehicle driver and transfer him to criminal investigation in order to complete the procedures and transfer him to the competent authorities to face his punishment in accordance with the system and the law.

The incident was met with widespread social dissatisfaction on all social media platforms, as users expressed their condemnation of this incident, demanding that strict punitive measures be taken against the vehicle driver.
