A journalist demands an apology from the Yemeni ambassador to Malaysia

The Yemeni journalist residing in Malaysia, Bushra Al-Ansi, demanded that the Yemeni ambassador to Malaysia, Adel Bahamid, prove his false allegations against her with evidence or formally apologize and give credit. Earlier, the Yemeni ambassador to Malaysia had stated this to the Yemen Today channel in a program Sana’a time, corresponding to February 14, 2024 AD. What the journalist Issa Al-Azab said in a phone call to the channel was that he gave her an amount of 18,000 Saudi riyals as donations from the embassy. In the journalist’s response to the question of the broadcaster who conveyed the ambassador’s statement to her live, she denied this matter and that she had received this aforementioned amount and said that this is not logical or realistic and that it aims to To damage her journalistic and professional reputation and demanded that he prove and publish the evidence he claims to possess.
The journalist published another brief video on her Facebook page that was widely circulated. She demanded that Ambassador Adel Bahameed provide evidence and publish it, or hand it over to the channel for display, or apologize formally. In it, she warned businessmen, merchants, and investors against dealing with Ambassador Adel Bahameed, whom she described as lying without shame. And that he takes money in the name of Yemenis from merchants and investors for the purpose of helping them in Malaysia, but it does not reach them. She stated that the claim he made against her is evidence of that, and he made this statement to the channel to whiten his face before them.
Al-Ansi worked as a media officer for the Yemeni People’s Forum in Malaysia and ran various seminars that focused on the problems of the Yemeni community in Malaysia, their suffering and their aspirations. She highlighted the shortcomings and neglect of the Yemeni embassy in Malaysia regarding the issues of residents in Malaysia, and the ambassador and his group’s takeover of union entities that are supposed to be a voice for the citizen like the community. The Union of Students and organizations that claim to do good deeds on behalf of the Yemenis, and established the Yemeni Expatriate Forum in Diaspora, whose work focused on the conditions of Yemenis abroad, including students, workers, and refugees as a result of the war.
Al-Ansi clarified that she will not give up her right and will continue to demand the publication of proof or an apology, as she published a post yesterday on her Facebook page, which stated:
"Not only did he try to strip me of my rights and citizenship by trying to force me to write a pledge not to return to the embassy under any circumstances. Who gave him the audacity to falsely say that I was paid 18 thousand Saudi riyals, and in exchange for what?!!!!
And I am not, God forbid, neither from his group nor from the group of others, and my professional history is more honorable than his entire history, and not a single photo brings me together with any corrupt, traitorous, or mercenary official, and I am not honored by that, and I have never given him the honor of standing by my side, and I am the person who has lived through and is experiencing life with my own hands. My dignity, my personal effort, and the sweat on my brow are not thanks to anyone, and my pocket and my conscience are too clean for his world and his polluted conscience to comprehend. There is no basis for comparison here between a corrupt and an honorable person, but the situation forced me to make this concession in the comparison between me and him, and I say here that I will not allow this liar to try to pollute my position and my truth. And distorting my profession and fabricating slander against me, no matter what the cost, has committed the greatest mistake against a person like me who struggled in the dark, alone, in exile, to the point of rashness and terror.
I demand from the ambassador, called Adel Bahamid, my right to publish proofs, and after this time I will not even accept an apology, and there is no longer another option, either proofs or proofs.”
